This print is part of Complicit , a limited series of woodcut relief prints. Each work contains a single statement in which the buyer questions their purchase. Unsold, the statement is false—no one paid for it. The moment you buy it, the text becomes true. You don't acquire a finished work. You finish it.
The print is printed in negative—the ink covers everything except the text. The message itself is blank paper, an absence that only becomes meaningful once someone pays for it.
Digitally designed, laser-engraved on birch plywood. Ink applied by hand—the colors are mixed directly on the wood. Each print therefore has its own unique color pattern and texture. No two prints are the same.
