Studio code+wood (formerly known as Kaboomlaser) creates wooden puzzles for adults. These durable jigsaw puzzles feature beautifully shaped, robust pieces. The puzzles are made of natural wood, without any printing. Our puzzles are all our own designs and are produced on a small scale in the Netherlands. They are more like works of art than mass-produced pieces.

All wooden puzzles for adults are made of unprinted, natural birch wood. So you don't have to rely on colors or images; only the shapes of the pieces give you an idea of ​​how everything fits together. Sometimes the grain or a slight color difference can help you. A wooden puzzle is different from a cardboard jigsaw puzzle in many ways: with a wooden puzzle, there's no doubt about whether two pieces will fit together. The puzzle is much thicker and sturdier and will last a long time. And sometimes you don't know which side of a puzzle piece is the front or the back: double the puzzling fun!

Don't be fooled by the number of pieces! Because there's no color or print to guide you, these can be challenging puzzles. The puzzles in the Entropy series can be completed in half an hour to an hour, and the larger ones can keep you busy for several hours. If you're not averse to a 1000-piece puzzle and are looking for a truly challenging puzzle, then the wooden puzzles in the Chaos series are perfect for you. Chaos puzzles with 300 pieces or more will be extremely challenging for some. It just depends on what kind of challenge you're looking for!

Our puzzles are made from clear birch wood. This wood is then laser-cut into pieces. These puzzles are also called jigsaw puzzles, although the jigsaw has been replaced by a laser cutting machine. This machine is much more precise and allows for incredibly intricate patterns. After laser cutting, the puzzle pieces are checked by hand, trimmed or sanded if necessary, and then packaged in a linen bag or wooden box.

Because wood is a natural product, there's always some color variation between two puzzles. You might see some grain or the occasional knot. This makes each puzzle truly unique; no two are exactly alike. And we love that.
