I'm Matthijs Keuper — an artist and maker exploring the space between code and material.
I combine technology such as software, AI, lasers and robotics with traditional techniques and create wood reliefs, engravings, and prints that search for order in chaos, and emotion in abstraction.
Here you'll find my collections, my process, and the results of turning digital logic into something physical and human.
WOOD RELIEF PRINTS
Generative Wood Relief Prints - Work In Progress

Trying To Follow My Intuition
Trying to Follow My Intuition is a series of wood relief prints about following your feelings without a clear path. The images show worlds full of arrows, stairs and directions that seem to go nowhere. Visual mazes built on trust in the subconscious.

Ordering My Thoughts Unsuccessfully
Ordering My Thoughts Unsuccessfully is a series of wood relief prints about the attempt to create order in mental chaos. Each work starts with strict, logical structures that slowly deform. The result is a visual reflection of a head full of plans, ideas and noise.
ENGRAVED WOOD CUTS
Oil on Wood

2024 Wood Engravings
Silent Streets
Silent Streets is a series of wood engravings of nighttime cityscapes, with a lonely figure in a deserted environment. The works breathe introspection and reflection. Abstract lines up close, recognizable scenes full of silence and meaning from a distance.

2023 Wood Engravings
I See You
I See You is a series of woodcuts of people who don’t exist. Using AI and generative code, faces are created that feel strangely familiar. Up close, abstract lines, from a distance, a gaze that touches you—artificial, yet human.
DIGITAL WORKS
Some available as fine art prints

2023 FINE ART PRINTS
Trajectories
Trajectories is a generative art series in which virtual particles move through space and collide with invisible forms. The result: layered, energetic compositions that are reminiscent of magnetic fields, explosions or microscopic processes. Created during Genuary 2023 and available as a high-quality giclée print.

2022 DIGITAL
Linea (non) Rectaa
LINEA (NON) RECTA is a study in different algorithms: a combination of quadtree subdivision, flow fields and line structures in a grid of small worlds. Each cell follows its own direction—sometimes logical, sometimes erratic. The result is a series of compositions in which structure and movement challenge each other.

2021 DIGITAL
Textuur
Textuur is a series of digital experiments with erosion, flow and surface. What started as a playful simulation grew into an investigation into the beauty of digital wear. Coded landscape, shaped by time and algorithm.

2024 - WORK IN PROGRESS
Vinny the Painting Robot
Vinny is a six-axis robot I’ve been teaching to paint. Using brushes, markers, and syringes filled with acrylic paint, I explore what happens when a machine takes over the act of making a mark. It’s an ongoing experiment—part control, part chaos—where each test reveals something unexpected.
