Laser-cut puzzles

In 2020 My wife Annette and I started Kaboomlaser, a small company making wooden puzzles. We cut them from plain birch plywood, without print. With no picture to follow, only the shapes of the pieces tell you how they fit. We stopped in the summer of 2023, after sending thousands of puzzles across the Netherlands and beyond.

The pieces are not drawn by hand. My own software grows them.

The Entropy pieces come from a reaction-diffusion simulation, the kind of process that also makes patterns in nature. It gives organic shapes with small "legs" of 5 to 8 mm. See the patterns grow.

The Chaos pieces come from differential growth: lines that keep getting longer and start to curl as they run out of space. These pieces are finer, and each one carries a small laser-engraved pattern. They are for experienced puzzlers.
